With over 20,000 people registered to run on Sunday 4^th February, the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 10k continues to grow at pace, hitting an increased capacity in record time. Created as an exciting and unique event which brings to life the fun and beauty of winter running, as well as raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK, the event has become a staple in the running calendar. It has now extended its lead as the largest 10k in London, and is second only to the London Marathon in terms of the capital’s running events.

This year, with a 20% increase in participants on 2017, the central London closed-road 10k promises an even bigger and better event experience, whilst still retaining the ever-popular polar bear hugs, penguin party and fantastic chunky medal. As the event grows there is an increasing amount of people travelling to take part, from across the UK and also abroad, with around 200 people travelling from outside the country.

Over 250 different running clubs and groups will be taking part on the day, containing over 4,000 members. 60% of people taking part have indicated that they plan to finish in under one hour, with between 55 and 60 minutes to most common predicted finish time. Starting the event at the front will be 1,400 people (7%) who believe they will finish in a time under 45 minutes, and will be trying to beat last year’s fastest time of 33:45 set by Blake Vivian.
