Cancer Research UK London Winter Run Smashes Records on 10th Anniversary
It was a record breaking day at the 2025 Cancer Research UK London Winter Run, as a whopping 25,000 excited participants lined up to take on the sold out event – making the UK’s largest 10k even bigger than ever before. With over £880,00 raised for Cancer Research UK so far – we’re on track to reach the highest total we’ve ever achieved at the event – this extraordinary 10th anniversary edition was definitely one worth celebrating.

The special 10th anniversary birthday party brought extra cheers and celebrations on the course!
A lively atmosphere marked the mild and blue-skied morning, as participants of all abilities came together to conquer the cold and tackle the 10k route that winds through the streets of central London. Runners passed iconic landmarks like St. Paul’s Cathedral and Bank, as well as beloved winter characters along the route, from playful penguins to enthusiastic Huskies. The route truly had it all. Adding to the excitement, was the special 10th anniversary birthday party, which brought extra cheers from incredible volunteers, a surprise visit from a polar bear, and of course – cake!
HOKA athletes Kris Jones and Emma Pallantbrown were first over the line in their respective categories, with Kris clocking a zippy 29:22 and Emma speeding in at 34:32!

As the morning continued, more and more participants poured over the line, proudly collecting their 10th anniversary medals – inspired by the very first medal from 2015. There were polar bear hugs, emotional finishes, and so many personal stories of inspiration behind every runner.

After crossing the finish, participants headed to the 10th anniversary après party, where the celebration continued to the sounds of Coldplay’s greatest hits, performed live by The Coldplay Tribute. Participants also enjoyed live cool downs with Runna, got to try on the latest HOKA footwear, and had the opportunity to pin their reason for running to the inspiring Cancer Research UK ‘Your Reason’ board, which was filled with heartfelt stories.
