2025 Route Preview: Must-See Highlights for the 10th Anniversary

The countdown to the 2025 Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is in full swing! With an incredible 25,000 participants ready to take on 10k through the heart of London, the 2025 edition is set to be bigger and better than ever. Now’s the perfect time to dive into the route for this year, which showcases a mix of returning favourites and exciting new additions that will make this 10th anniversary event truly unforgettable.

NEW FOR 2025: THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
We’re celebrating a decade of conquering the cold in 2025 by introducing a special 10th anniversary course zone. Ten years after the first ever Cancer Research UK London Winter Run our team will be toasting your achievements by donning their best party outfits, putting up wintery birthday decorations, and presenting a giant cake containing a huggable surprise inside! So prepare your best pointy hat, and keep your eyes peeled for the shenanigans shortly after the Penguin Party about 5.8KM into the route.

PENGUIN PARTY
Nestled near the historic Bank of England, you’ll find our ever-popular Penguin Party. These funky, flippered friends will be dancing up a storm. If you’re in need of a motivation boost, these party penguins are guaranteed to make you smile.

THE SNOWY SUMMIT
As you reach the halfway mark at 5km, you’ll encounter the mystical Snowy Summit. The good news? It’s all downhill from here (in the best way)! Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive yeti, ready to offer a quiet cheer and pose for a one-of-a-kind selfie moment.

HUSKY HIGH FIVE ZONE
Who let the dogs out? We did! At the Husky High Five Zone, our furry friends are ready to motivate you with endless enthusiasm. Stretch out your hand for a high five as you pass – these canine cheerleaders are paws-itively adorable!

CANCER RESEARCH UK ROCK CHOIR
Just before you reach the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral, the sound of live music fills the frosty air as the Cancer Research UK Rock Choir performs classic hits, guaranteed to boost your energy and bring a smile to your face. Singing along is strongly encouraged – it’s all part of the fun!

FINISH STRAIGHT
As you head down Whitehall, the finish line is in sight! You’ll pass the HOKA Fly Zone, where a lively oompah band will give you one last push with their upbeat tunes. With Big Ben towering ahead, this final stretch is your time to shine. Soak up the cheers and cross the line like the winter warrior you are.

Once you’ve crossed the finish line, the iconic #WinterRun polar bears will be there to welcome you back! After collecting your commemorative medal and finish line goodies, our friendly, furry companions will be waiting for selfies and offering a warm post-run hug to celebrate your achievement!

After you finish, don’t forget to head back to Trafalgar Square for the 10th anniversary après party. Re-unite with friends and family, enjoy live music, and share stories with your fellow winter warriors. It’s the ultimate way to wind down and celebrate your incredible achievement. See you there!
